Beginning July 1, 2015, Indiana drivers under the age of twenty-one (21) will be prohibited from using their cell phones while driving. Prior to the enactment of this new law, only those under age eighteen (18) were prohibited from using their phones while driving. This new law takes things a bit further however. Under the new law, those drivers under the age of 21 will be prohibited from using their phones IN ANY CAPACITY
while driving. That means no GPS navigation, texting, hands-free calling or any other possible use or feature. Even many Indiana legislators were taken back by enactment of the new law. Apparently, not all of them had read the full text of all the bills upon which they voted! Have a comment or question? Click the "Comment" button below or go to our "Contact Us" page.
